Deworming Program

ROTDOW established a deworming programme in 2011, as complementing effort for improved nutritional supports for orphans and vulnerable children. As a way to secure the future of these OVC, ROTDOW embarked on house-to-house deworming programme and in-school visits to these OVC. ROTDOW also provides basic deworming education to their care givers to ensure a sustainable action towards the deworming of other OVCs (those not enrolled in schools). Since inception, 910 Orphans and vulnerable children have been dewormed and placed on best nutritional supplements such that will ensure continuous and rapid adaptation of OVC in learning or academic situations.

Community Mobilization Exercise on Cross-cutting Issues

Apart from women and girls education and empowerment programmes embarked upon by ROTDOW, it has also prioritized the enhancement of the capacity of indigenous stakeholders and gate-keepers on community development and empowerment in Ondo State.

On community mobilization, our activities focus on:

In affiliation with the Society for Family Health (SFH), ROTDOW has reached 40,304 families with free mosquito nets in 64 villages/ communities in Ondo State. Apart from having 40,000 mosquito nets, ROTDOW took the campaign to schools, workshops and car parks, where people with low –level of information on malaria prevention reside. The malaria prevention program has been an effective model upon which ROTDOW has leveraged upon to promote high-level of community participation by gatekeepers and stakeholders on collective community protection against mosquitoes and improved grassroots volunteerism for malaria prevention.
