Unlock Effective Parenting in 2024: ROTDOW Webinar with Mr. Adaramola Emmanuel

Firstly, let’s consider various generations of children from the past, including the forgotten generation, the computer generation, generation X, and recently, generation Z. Notably, three generations closely followed one another in the 1990s to 2000: the millennium generation, the computer generation, and generation X.

In the last decade, it has been agreed that we are now in the generation Z category of children, resembling the biblical end-of-the-world generation, characterized by an increase in knowledge, disobedience to parents, selfishness, love of money, and more.

The present generation of children requires special skills, understanding, and the ability to lead, coordinate, and guide them into rightful adulthood. They exhibit peculiarities that demand unique approaches for effective parenting.

It’s important to recognize that parents today, falling between the ages of 30 and 50, were once part of the jet generation. This age gap between the jet generation and generation Z emphasizes differences in values and perspectives.

Generation Z differs from the jet generation in their regard for age and status, their focus on temporal things, and their fascination with colorful stimuli. Understanding these differences is crucial for successful parenting in 2024.

Generation Z believes in smartness for success, while the jet generation values hard work. Successful parenting in 2024 involves grasping the dynamics and bridging the gap between the parents’ childhood and the realities of raising children in 2024.

Parents need to recognize that children today possess basic knowledge and make informed decisions. Being prepared to answer questions and actively participating in their issues is crucial for effective parenting.

Additionally, successful parenting requires leading by example. Children observe actions more than words, so parents must embody the qualities they wish to instill in their children.

Many parents today lack the qualities needed to guide their children properly. It’s essential to avoid the misconception that pampering or giving excessive freedom makes one a classy parent. Instead, focus on consciously deciding what values, decisions, and influences you want for your children.

In conclusion, for successful parenting in 2024, understand the peculiarities of generation Z, accommodate them, and view these peculiarities from a positive perspective. Be a consistent learning point for your children and avoid being a chameleon. Thank you for being part of this presentation.
