Sexual violence in conflict is a serious public health problem which has a profound short and long- impact on physical and mental health such as increased risk of sexual and reproductive health problems, an increased risk of suicide or HIV infections; whose victims are primarily women and girl’s child.
Restoration of the Dignity of Womanhood commemorate the International Day of Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict today 20th June 2022 to raises awareness about conflict- related to sexual violence.
The theme for this year international day of elimination of sexual violence was tagged: Prevention as Protection: Enhancing structural and operational prevention of conflict- related sexual violence.
ROTDOW in collaboration with Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs, Ondo State Board of Agency against Gender based Violence and WARDC are working together to eliminate violence against women and girls child in the state, in which support were given to survivors of sexual violence.
ROTDOW stands in solidarity to advocate, create awareness to Survivors to speak out and join to say STOP Conflict- related Sexual Violence to Women and Girls Child.
