Restoration of the Dignity of Womanhood organized a sensitization program for children at Adinlewa Community in Akure South LG, as part of their support towards COVID_19.
Mrs. Olabisi Omolona, the CEO of ROTDOW, took the awareness to the children who were organized in batches of 15 so as to maintain social distance. The children were taught on how the virus is transmitted, symptoms and ways of prevention – such as washing of hands with soap and water regularly for at least 20seconds or using alcohol based sanitizer and avoiding crowded spaces. Other key stakeholders at the sensitization program was Mr. Akinniranye, a representative of Nigeria Orientation Agency (NOA) and also a member of COVID-19 committee in Ondo State, Miss. Ajenike from State Ministry of Health, who also advised the children to maintain good hygiene upon resumption after school reopens.
ROTDOW distributed facemask and IEC material to the children and also in support to those whose parents could not afford it. it as part of their contribution to the society. Demonstration of washing of hands was carried out. The children were enjoined to report anyone who goes about with myths such as COVID-19 is not real and taking chloroquine as the cure which had not yet been verified by the health age.
